I presently live in Menai in the Sutherland Shire of Sydneys South. I am 35 years of age & have a significant interest in Meteorology & enjoy watching weather systems & how each one generates its own particular precipitation characteristics.
I grew up in Bundaberg, Queensland & my earliest weather event memory was in January 1974 when Cyclone Wanda crossed the coast near Double Island Point & caused Flooding in our street/town to the point where water was at the top step of our low set Weatherboard home in Maynard Street. I distinctly remember my brother screaming in the background & I just absolutely loved seeing the water right in front of me as my mother would testify to holding me back from trying to jump in.
I can remember many distinct events whilst growing up & to this day I still get goose bumps when seeing development of Cumulo Clouds of any kind.
