FREAKISH STORMS THREATEN SE QLD - NOVEMBER 11, 2001

A suspicious cell sparked fears today for some Gold Coast residents. The storm was travelling in a SE direction over northern half of the coast. It developed into a wedge shape like a huge funnel. There looked to be a fair bit of movement inside the storm aswell as its fast ground speed, looking like it could have dropped a tornado or water spout over the ocean. However, there were no reports of anything of the kind, just a spectacular site watching this peculiar storm move over the coast. Steve Baynham took these stills from his rooftop.
