SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS - NOVEMBER 16, 1999
A severe storm tore through the eastern Darling Downs causing an estimated $2 million in damges to crops! The storm brought fierce winds and gold ball sized hail, leaving in its wake a damage path 4-7km long from Cecil Plains to Pitsworth and Clifton. One cotton grower said his 1500 acre crop had been complete whiped out. Strong/borderline severe storms developed in eastern parts during the late afternoon and early evening, with frequent lightning and winds gusting to 80-90km/h reported from Kallangur.
